Diagnostics

Unlike us, our pets lack the ability to directly tell us how they feel or what hurts and diagnostic tests offer your veterinarian valuable insight into your pet’s health and comfort. Whether done as a part of a routine preventative care screening, in preparation for an anesthetic procedure or in response to a change in your pet’s general condition, the goal is to efficiently and effectively rule potential issues in or out.

Brunswick Veterinary Clinic offers state of the art, in-house diagnostic equipment, complemented by visiting specialists and outside laboratories with advanced capabilities. In short, we can provide the answers you need to make informed decisions about your pet’s veterinary care.

Laboratory
Our in-house laboratory capabilities include general chemistries, complete blood counts (CBC), parvovirus testing, heartworm screening, feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) screening, progesterone levels and much more.

Radiology
Our Grass Valley veterinarians utilize digital x-ray technology to achieve rapid and accurate diagnoses of a variety of medical conditions, which also minimizes the amount of additional testing your pet may have to undergo. All images are reviewed by a team of board certified radiologists to ensure an accurate diagnosis.

Ultrasound
Digital ultrasound is another form of imaging your veterinarian may use to evaluate your pet’s internal organs and soft tissue structures for abnormalities or to collect tissue or lab samples. Many times, ultrasound is more precise and comprehensive than x-ray and affords a real-time, moving image of your pet’s internal structures - often without sedation.

Cardiac Evaluation
Aside from the stethoscope, digital imaging is the primary tool in evaluating your pet’s heart health. The Brunswick Veterinary Clinic team works closely with one of the leading area cardiologists to offer a full range of cardiac health services, including echocardiograms. These evaluations can be key in the early detection of heart murmurs, following ongoing cardiac conditions or breed related screening.
